What's Mie-Shugendokai

A group of Shugendo mountain ascetics based on Mie Prefecture, Japan. Respecting syncretization of Shinto with Buddhism, a core ethos of Shugendo, the group respects unity among ascetics as well, and welcomes new members regardless to his or her creed, belief, religion, and/or thought. Mukoyama-In Temple at the top of Mt. Hokuto (Ohno-machi, Matsuzaka City) is its main monastery, and Isesanjo Ibutaji Temple is its training center.
